Performing arts for everyone

OCTOBER 2019 SPOTLIGHT

PARENT OBSERVATION WEEK

As we quickly hit the mid point of our current semester, it’s time for Parent Observation Week! From October 7th – 12th, parents and other family members are invited to sit in, watch, and learn inside the classroom with their children. It is a great opportunity to get more involved in your child’s performing arts education. For more information on Parent Observation Week, check out our blog HERE.

RISING STARS MUSIC SHOWCASE

Starlight Studios is presenting our very first Rising Stars Music Showcase on Saturday, October 12th. Our music students as well as musicians in our community have been invited to perform the art form they love and share it with all of you. The showcase will be held at Starlight in our main building (505 W Grant Line Rd) in our theater space. The event begins at 7PM and tickets are $8. Come and support the arts and the artists.

If you missed out in performing in this showcase but would like to perform next time (remember, you don’t have to be a student to perform), we will be hosting our next showcase in March 2020.

HALLOWEEN WEEK

Wear your costumes, bring a friend, learn a silly, spooky dance and song, and don’t forget the candy – Halloween Week at Starlight Studios is almost here! On October 24th-30th, all of our students are invited to join in the fun. We will have a costume contest (please no inappropriate or super scary costumes) along with our fun class activities. Invite your friends to join us for free during that week. More info and prizes coming soon!

WINTER 2020 CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Our regular Spring semester doesn’t begin until February so we thought we would add some special classes, workshops, and camps to our schedule just for the month of January! The full schedule isn’t out yet, but we will be hosting auditions and workshops for our spring show with Starlighters Theater Company, a reboot of our Frozen Dance Camp to celebrate the release of “Frozen 2” in November, and an exciting 4-day ballet master class with Chris Corn, former dancer at the SF Ballet. The full schedule will be released online on October 15th.
