14 Parent Observation Do’s and Don’t’s

Miss Allison

In the middle of every semester, Starlight Studios opens their doors to family so they can witness all the love, passion, and progress being created in the classroom.

We want our Parent Observation Week to be beneficial and successful for both our students and their families, so we have put together a quick list of do’s and don’t’s:

Do:

Be a good audience (come in on time, watch, listen, learn, enjoy)

Don’t:

Be a distraction (late arrival, talking, feeling annoyed)

Do:

Bring family to watch!

Don’t:

Let siblings and other children run around the classroom!

Do:

Bring your phone to take pictures and videos of your student!

Don’t:

Bring your phone to stare at it during the entire class.

Do:

Post pictures and videos of your student on social media!

Don’t:

Post pictures or videos of other students you don’t know, as well as full routine choreography/musical arrangements.

Do:

Bring water into the classroom

Don’t:

Bring food, drink, or gum into the classroom.

Do:

Share in the excitement with your student and their progress!

Don’t:

Compare or make remarks concerning other students.

Do:

Be engaged with the class and your student!

Don’t:

Be engaged in conversation with other parents.

Extra Credit:

Thank your teacher for their devotion to your student and their performing arts education, as well as for the opportunity to sit in on their class!
